Embracing warm minimalism with Studio Bond
When Victoria Holstein, founder of Studio Bond, took on the task of renovating and redesigning this West Palm Beach apartment, she was immediately enthusiastic.
"It was a wonderful location," she explains, "the spaces were wonderful with high ceilings and lots of light."
A former fashion designer who spent time in Paris, for this project, she was inspired by her time in Europe.
"It was a mix: I started thinking about 1930s Art Deco, Italy, and my experiences over there.
"I’m neither a pure minimalist nor a pure maximalist, but maybe a warm minimalist if you will; a minimalist with some punch."
Why Corston?
"Materials are very important to me," explains Victoria. "They’re what separate a successful finish from one that’s less successful.
"Architectural details play a pivotal role because if you’re going to design something for a luxury market, the materials have to be top quality. It’s one area where I always try not to cut corners.
"When I discovered Corston and called them up I was shocked to find out they could get me the products in just a couple of days.
"I love that they can work in a modern or traditional environment, and that they aren’t overwhelming in the space and instead are just subtly there. But when people come over, they always compliment them. Always."
