The switches in our Kew collection are installed with new work boxes that need to be recessed into the wall. This makes them perfect for new construction projects.
They’re particularly subtle too, thanks to the really slim front plates that sit perfectly flush to the wall.
Our 1 gang smart retractive toggle switch is a modern take on the classic dolly design. We’ve crafted it to be as sleek and timeless as possible in any interior setting.
We make our clear collection from polycarbonate, which is more flexible and durable than the usual acrylic. The toggle is made from solid brass in our polished nickel finish.
A retractive switch flicks back into the top 'off' position when you let go. This version uses our smart in-line dimmer module so you can also control your lights using your smartphone, tablet, or voice (or you can press and hold to dim up and press and hold again to dim down).
As well as remote dimming and switching, you can set 'scenes' to adjust the warmth and brightness of one or more of your lights. You can also set automations to turn lights on or off for a fixed duration depending on the time of day.
Polished nickel is our answer to chrome. It’s a bit warmer, which we think is more versatile, so you can use it with warm or cool color palettes.

How do I install Corston electrical products?

How do I install your Kew clear switches and outlets?
The clear switches and outlets in our Kew collection come with backing paper that you can either paint or use as a wallpaper template.
The transparent front plate is then secured over the backing paper to conceal the electrics.
All our electrical products should be installed by a qualified electrician.
Do I need to use Corston electrical boxes with Corston switches and outlets?
Our Grove collection is designed to be easy to retrofit. The switches and outlets will work with your existing old and new work boxes, but you can also use ours if you’re adding to your setup.
The switches and outlets in our Kew collection only work with new work boxes that are recessed into the wall. You can use our new work boxes for this, but if a different new work box is already recessed into the wall, that’s fine to use too.
Can I create a custom switch arrangement?
Yes, we sell the individual components for our Kew and Grove collections. For help with creating your own combinations, just give us a call at (332) 895-1718 or email hi@corston.us.
How do your retractive switches work?
A retractive switch flicks back into the top ""off"" position when you let go. A center retractive switch flicks back to the center ""off"" position when you let go. It can be pressed up or down to make two separate connections. When used with one of our in-line dimmer modules, a short press will turn the light on and off. A press and hold will dim and brighten the light.
* Both versions must be used with one in-line dimmer module per circuit.
When should I use a four-way switch?
Four-way switches need to be used when three or more switches are required to control the same light. Three-way switches are used at the start and end of the circuit, and one or more four-way switches are added to the middle of the circuit.
Can I have more than one three-way dimmer controlling the same circuit?
Multiple three-way dimmer modules can't be used to control the same light. However, a three-way dimmer can be combined with three-way or four-way switches to control the light from multiple locations.
Retractive and center retractive toggles/rockers can be used for a multiple point dimming circuit when used with an in-line dimmer module (one per circuit).
Alternatively, our multiway dimmer module can be used to dim and turn lights on/off from multiple locations on one circuit.
How do I stop my dimmers from flickering?
All our dimmers have been engineered with anti-flicker technology. If flickering is something you're experiencing, please follow our mode setting instructions here.
